Aspley Oriental Chinese Restaurant | Aspley, Brisbane

With yum cha and a la carte on offer, both options are pretty good here. Remembering those childhood days where my parents would take me to yum cha on the weekends and then ordering a variety of various items to share with chinese tea to help gulp it all down.

BBQ Pork Pastry was delicious, crunchy and flaky pastry on the outside with flavoursome bbq pork as its filling. It does get quite hot though when you bite into it. The next yum cha dish just had to be Chicken Feet, although many may think otherwise, I quite like it. I don't eat it as much as I would back when I was young when I go to yum cha but the occasional chicken feet is ah-okay. The strong soy and sesame oil based sauce with a hint of chilli kick flavoured through the chicken feet.

Char Kwae Teow is a stir fried thick rice noodle dish served with vegetables, egg, fish cake, beansprouts with various seafood and chicken. This was not as heavy on the soy sauce as some other places but equally as good. It was rather oily however for my liking.

Special Fried Rice can be considered a classic but different restaurants does it differently. Here, there's peas, egg and prawns. Although simple but it had the right balance of saltiness.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Northside so for those who haven't given this a go, you can make this your next destination.
