La Moda - by Hyatt | Plaza Indonesia Mall, Jakarta, Indonesia

July 05, 2021

La Moda sits in the middle of Plaza Indonesia, near Grand Hyatt Hotel, or should I say attached to its neighbouring Hotel. It can get quite busy during peak hours but since we came before peak hours, it wasn't too bad. It started getting busy after we started ordering. La Moda is sometimes used by functions or corporate parties and so on, guessing that it's a good area to have a seat, dine and people watch.

We started it with drinks; Orange and Pineapple Juice and a Mocktail. Both were okay but nothing special. Complimentary assorted breads came with herb butter and another two which I wasn't too sure what it was.

Beef Pastrami Pizza was quite an interesting one, it had a whole heap of both white and red onions, olives, capsicums and topped with fresh salad mix. The beef pastrami was scattered everywhere and the crust was not hard not over-cooked and was quite pleasant to eat fully.

La Moda Signature Chicken Club, with your choice of wheat or ciabatta bread which we chose Ciabatta. Can't go wrong with a classic. The sandwiches came with a side of french fries or signature salad, which we opted for french fries. The fries was crispy and nicely seasoned, not overly salty.

For those who want to come in and not sure what to try, I do suggest giving this a go. It was quite a fulfilling meal by itself and it's usually not sliced into three but since there was three of us, the chef nicely sliced it up for us into three. Saves us time from having to divide it amongst us!

The chicken club was nicely grilled, served with cheese, lettuce, onions and a few other additional elements. The ciabatta bread was nicely toasted but one thing I do have to add would be, I wished the bread was buttered. But I guess that's personal preference. If it already was, then I must've not tasted it.

Kwetiauw, which didn't really taste like the real deal but it was not bad I guess. Served with fried chicken and prawn crackers. The wok fried noodles had more of a soy sauce base and had prawns and vegetables in the mix.

Truffle Mash Potato, was not very truffle-y but the mash was very buttery, smooth and silky and was a pleasure to eat. Wished we got more in the ramekin though!
