Cafe Noma | Wavell Heights, Brisbane

June 01, 2021

Tucked away in a small shopping complex in Wavell Heights, Cafe Noma serves from Breakfast to Lunch. We wandered here after church to have breakfast and decided to try a couple of their breakfast options. It was not too busy with only a couple of tables filled with other diners but there was also a few that came for takeaway coffees.

Cappuccino, was nicely made with the right amount of coffee shot and milk ratio, not too milky nor creamy that ends up losing that coffee flavour. One thing however, it was not hot enough.

Noma Food Coma was simply a platter, a big breakfast, definitely enough for two to share or maybe one when hungry. 2 pieces of bacon, 2 pork chipolatas, 2 house made hash, mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, spinach and toasted Turkish bread with a side of butter. The dish came with relish also but I felt that I didn't have the need to use it much other than when wanting to make myself a mini brekky stack or as a dipping sauce but I do have to say, it was a nice dip for the chipolatas and hash.

The Turkish bread was buttered when it arrived on the table which was great, crunchy on the outer but still soft on the inside, not too hard to bite into but was surprisingly abit hard to slice through with a normal knife, maybe I needed a steak knife.

Eggs Benny Your Way, free range eggs served on a toasted Turkish bread, topped with spinach and hollandaise sauce. Did not add anything extra for this as we didn't feel like it and I didn't mind it. I felt that the spinach was the 'meat' of it and I guess you already have the wonderful oozing egg anyway (the egg is always the main part for me in any Eggs benny).

The hollandaise sauce had the tang but also not too strong that it gives you that kick, it blended in well with the rest of the dish and would be happy to order this again but maybe next time, will add a side of meat.

The cafe has ample space, a water bowl for dogs and offers a kids menu.
