Grill'd .. The Healthy Burgers.. as they like to call it.. Sells gourmet burgers ranging from Beef, Lamb, Chicken, Veggie or Steak.. along with Snack burgers which are smaller burgers when that tummy of ours isn't looking for much.. and they also have hot chips and salads..
I have to say that in Brisbane, there is a lack of Japanese restaurants when compared to the restaurants in Sydney or Melbourne.. Japanese Restaurants and eat-outs can definitely fit your budget whether you're looking for cheap eats or average priced or the fine-dining.. Some Cheap eats would include places such as Hanaichi, Sushi sushi and those Japanese restaurants in Food courts you see... Whilst fine dining would include restaurants in the CBD or Portside or Gold Coast and so on, such as Sono, Oshin, Sake etc.. But in CBD, there's actually not much choices other than Hanaichi, Kadoya, Himawari, Ajisen, Sono or Oshin.. But, this place that is in Adelaide St, is not as easy to get to and as known to those in the inner city.. As you do have to do a little walking, and it is in Adelaide St.. I find it pretty easy to get to, but the other day when I tried directing my friend, they got somehow confused... Well, basically, if you're in adelaide st, go towards the post office square and keep walking walking until you come to a corner where you find a tall building and a bus stop just opposite a little eatery complex, and there it is ..... "Taros Ramen and Cafe" .. located right under the boeing house.. I shall say that this IS the BEST Ramen you can have in Brisbane.. =) from all the japanese restaurants I have tried~
Down at Hawken Drive at St Lucia, where all the UQ students would walk down or go down by bus to have lunch or snack or even dinner .. you would see most of the restaurants filled with people during peak times.. and amongst all the restaurants in Hawken Drive, from the vietnamese to the japanese, from subway to coffee shops and from thai to ice creams.. there is a Fish and Chip shop that is next to the Japanese restaurant, Edamame, called "A Salt and Battery"..
An Izakaya style Japanese Restaurant finally opened in Brisbane's Chinatown last year in 2011 and I have to say, the interior was a fusion of traditional and modern. With the timbered private booths and the touch-screen ordering systems in each, dangling down lights and the combination of the timber and bamboo blinds seperating each of the booths.. Normal seatings and private bookings are accepted and with the self-touch-screen-ordering system in each of the booths allows everyone to order anytime, as much and at their own pace.
Pancake Manor is just one of the few places you could go to that is opened 24 hours.. Don't let the name underestimate you with what they've got to offer.. Sure they sell pancakes, but more else, they also sell waffles, burgers, salads, snacks, drinks both non-alcohol and alcohol and coffee.. Good hang out place to chill and chat, with the magnificent building that I think used to be a church somehow .. They've also got a bar down stairs called "The Knight Bar"..
Coffee Club at Aspley for dinner one night... The place is near the McDonalds there and the place is alright I guess.Bought one of their specials which isn't on the menu anymore sadly ...
Groove Train has locations in Riverside, Docklands, Surfers Paradise, King George Square at the CBD and more.. Though all has its similarities in interior, it is somehow 'unique yet familiar' as they'd like to call it.. Selling a mixture of Italian and modern Australian dishes ranging from pastas, woodfired pizzas, asian dishes, salads and much more.. Also serves alcohol and coffees..
Toscani's over at Chermside Shopping Centre, where the main entrance is at, near the cinemas, where there's restaurants at the front including Beach House, Grill'd, Gilhooleys and that ..
Down at the Gold Coast AGAIN... and for dinner, my friends recommended this Italian restaurant.. Well, basically he just took us there coz he went there last time with our other friend and they both said just go there tonight.. and so we did.. Fully Licensed, BYO as well ... and parking is on the street, if you're lucky.. The place was packed like crazy ... we booked a table already but unfortunately had to wait longer just for our tables to be ready due to the so many diners..
Gold Coast might be popular for its waves and shopping, but who thought that in the heart of it lies Japanese restaurants .. owned and cooked by Japanese .. unlike the sushi shops and sushi trains in Brisbane owned by Chinese or Koreans .. not saying that they are any different, but just the thought of it, people would generally want to go to an authentic one.. if you know what I mean.. Located in Centre Arcade, where it was kind of surrounded by other Japanese restaurants as well, on the ground level and on the second level .. On the ground level had Hakataya Ramen and that ..
